The next FOA meeting will be Thursday Sept. 22 at 7pm at the Argyle Free Library.

A C&D LANDFILL IS NOT HEALTHY FOR ARGYLE:

PUBLIC HEALTH HAZARDS
  • Well water pollution
  • Unsafe road conditions for school buses and residents
  • Explosions and fires
  • Odors (known to be strong from C&D landfills)
  • Air pollution from odors, gases produced and truck traffic
  • Groundwater and surface water pollution
  • Vectors, insects, rodents, birds

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTECONOMIC IMPACT
  • Decrease in property values - Homes are statistically proven to sell for on average 12.9% LESS
  • Lower resale values means less property taxes for the Town
  • Condemnation of adjacent property for future land uses
  • Negative image DOES NOT encourage business or residential growth
  • Increased cost of road maintenance to Town of Argyle, Washington County and surrounding towns due to trucks damaging roads
